When is the best time to transport elk?

When is the best time to transport elk?
It is best to transport cows after breeding in the months of December through February when the temperature is cool and not close to calving. Bulls can be shipped anytime except during the rut. The optimal time is immediately after shedding antlers or just as they begin to shed velvet. Cool weather is always preferred.
